Atlanta cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon, Dr. John D. Symbas, is a recent addition to the highly trained surgeons at Marietta Plastic Surgery.  He is excited to offer his experience, skills and talents to his patients, helping them to achieve better health, better function, better appearance and better lives.  He is thoroughly trained in all aspects of reconstructive surgery, facial surgery, breast surgery and body contouring procedures.  Additionally, he learned the latest cutting edge technology and methods in cosmetic plastic surgery by completing a fellowship with Paces Plastic Surgery, with special emphasis on oculoplastic surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Clinton McCord.

Exceptional Education and Training

Dr. Symbas, a native of Atlanta, graduated from Trinity and Lovett Schools with high honors in academic and athletic endeavors.  He continued his education at Emory University, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society for his academic and scientific studies, and was also elected captain of the Emory Varsity Soccer team.  He received All American honors for his efforts on the field, and was granted early acceptance to Emory Medical School on an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.  His excellent performance in medical school earned him the additional honor of being accepted to a rigorous accelerated Plastic Surgery residency program at Emory as well. There, he completed three years of general surgery, and three years of plastic surgery training under the guidance of some of the best minds and hands that the field of plastic surgery has to offer.

Dedication to Patients

Dr. Symbas is proud to be part of an Atlanta-area medical family. His father and two brothers offer great care to their patients in various specialties at Emory, Grady, Kennestone and Piedmont hospitals. Dr. Symbas and his family are all active members of the Greek Orthodox Church.  An avid traveler, Dr. Symbas takes great pride in applying insights gained through his educational, athletic and social pursuits to provide an individualized and tailored approach to every plastic surgery patient.
