The Artistry of Breast Enhancement
 |
Drs. West, McNeel, Fabian and Hanna offer our patients breast augmentation procedures that enlarge the breasts to any size, simultaneously improving their shape. Many women with smaller-sized breasts feel self-conscious about the shape of their body. Although breast size and shape varies greatly among women and within an individual woman's life, breasts are ideally somewhat full. Because clothes are generally designed for women with medium-sized breasts, women with smaller breasts often have trouble finding clothes or swimsuits that flatter their figures. Current fashions seem to demand larger breast sizes, with lower necks and increased emphasis on the breast area, forcing some women to wear uncomfortable, often unnatural-looking padded bras, or to forego certain styles. Moreover, women with smaller breasts can often feel unwomanly because they lack the curves that our culture defines as “feminine.” However, our breast implant procedures can provide women those feminine curves.

Breast Lift
For many women, age, pregnancy, or genetics can cause the breasts to sag. Sagging breasts can make women feel self-conscious about their appearance and how their clothes fit, forcing them to dress and even to act older than they normally would. Increased support bras only offer a temporary solution to breast sagging. Women with sagging breasts do have another option, however. At Marietta Plastic Surgery, we recommend the breast lift procedure to women with sagging breasts as a natural-looking way to rejuvenate the body.. This procedure lifts and reshapes sagging breasts, and can even reduce the size of the areola. Often, the breast lift procedure is performed in conjunction with breast implants, to fully rejuvenate and reshape the breasts. |

Breast Lift Procedures
Drs. West, McNeel, Fabian and Hanna provide breast enhancement patients a choice of three advanced breast lift techniques. Each breast lift technique is designed to facilitate different cosmetic goals. Depending on the extent of sagging and the condition of your breasts, you and your surgeon will decide which procedure is best for you.
Periareolar or "doughnut" is available for patients with minimal sagging. The surgeon makes an incision around the areola and removes a donut-shaped area of skin. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with breast implants. Depending on the extent of sagging and the condition of your breasts, you and your surgeon will decide which procedure is best for you.
Vertical "lollipop" is appropriate for those patients who want moderate lifting. The incision in this procedure goes around the areola and straight down to the breast crease. The surgeon then removes excess skin from the area outlined by the incision, and moves the nipple and areola to a higher position.
Inverted-T: This technique is employed for patients who want moderate or major lifting of the breasts. The surgeon makes an upside-down T-shaped incision that descends from the nipple and follows the natural contour of the breast. From this incision, the surgeon removes excess skin and moves the nipple and areola into a new, higher position.
Breast Reduction
For women with disproportionately large breasts, our practice offers breast reduction surgery. Women with very large breasts often feel self-conscious about the shape of their bodies. Fashionable clothing is normally designed for women with medium-sized breasts, and some large-breasted women can grow tired of being noticed only for their breast size. Because of negative attention and limited clothing choices, women with very large breasts often dress in baggy clothes to hide their shape. In addition to cosmetic concerns, women with oversized breasts are at risk for medical problems including shoulder, neck, and back aches. Drs. West, McNeel, Fabian and Hanna offer breast reduction surgery to resolve these issues.
Whether your breast enhancement goal is to decrease your breast size or to eliminate breast sagging, Marietta Plastic Surgery can design a procedure for you. In consultation, you and your surgeon can decide what procedure will best suit your cosmetic goals, and how that procedure can be adapted specifically to the results you want.
