BOTOX® injection therapy, a non-surgical alternative in wrinkle reduction, smoothes and eliminates forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet and creases across the neck. BOTOX® is a therapeutic neurotoxin that has been used in wrinkle therapy for over 6 years. Because BOTOX® is administered in extremely small doses it does not affect the nerve, so there is no numbness as often associated with surgery and the muscles related to other expressions usually remain unaffected.

Although BOTOX® smoothes out most wrinkles, sometimes, too much collagen (the skin's support structure) has been lost. For dynamic wrinkles, Collagen Injection Therapy™ replaces lost collagen filling deep lines and furrows. Collagen is also effective in filling lines and creases around the mouth.

Before the Procedure
Notify your surgeon if you are pregnant or suffer from neuromuscular disorders or cardiovascular disease.

Procedure
BOTOX® injection therapy typically takes 30 minutes depending on the extent of the procedure. The procedure is performed in our offices on an outpatient basis. No anesthesia is necessary.

Injections are administered to localized areas where wrinkles have formed. Periodic touch-up injections are required to maintain maximum correction. Correction generally lasts three months.

After the Procedure
You may experience slight reddening, bruising, and tenderness around injection sites. This is perfectly normal and should subside within a few days. Adjacent muscles may also be weakened because of spreading of the toxin.

Recovery
Patients are able to return to regular activity within four hours after the procedure.No aerobic or cardio activity for 24 hours.
