PCA® Peels
Physician's Choice of Arizona (PCA) offers a wide variety of AHA (alphahydroxy acid) or natural "fruit acid" peels specifically tailored to your skin's type and individual needs. PCA® even offers peels for sensitive skin types. PCA® peels are light to medium peels which effectively help reduce the depth of surface lines, smooth out rough skin texture, help fade brown spots and assist in drying out acne/blemished skin. They are excellent for patients with active, cystic acne and asphyxiated skin (dry on the surface, oil underneath). PCA® peels are safe and non-toxic and can be used to treat skin on the hands, neck, and chest as well as the face. All PCA® peels are in-office procedures that can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures.

Peel :The PCA® peel typically takes 20 minutes and may be performed on the neck, chest, hands, arms, and face. The procedure is fast and highly tolerable.

After the Peel : There is no downtime whatsoever with PCA® peels. Within two days your skin will start peeling and flaking like a sunburn. This is perfectly normal and should subside within a one week. You should not apply cosmetics until after the skin heals.

Depending on the depth of the procedure, skin can heal in anywhere from 3 to 7 days. The dramatic results appear as soon as the skin finishes peeling. In conjunction with any of our home care skin regimens like Obagi Nu-Derm restorative system, Skincueticals Primacy Recovery system, or Bio-Medic, skin will continue to improve over the next 4 to 6 weeks becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, and healthier.

Obagi® Blue Peel
The Obagi® Blue Peel is a TCA (trichloracetic acid) peel blended with a unique patented blue base, which slows penetration allowing the esthetician to control the depth of the peel to effectively remove the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face and body. Like AHA peels, the Obagi® Blue Peel treats dry skin, acne, liver and sun spots; lessens fine lines; decreases pore size; and smoothes skin texture. However, because the TCA peel is a medium peel that penetrates deeper into the skin than an AHA peel, it also removes larger wrinkles and pre-cancerous skin lesions (including those pre-cancerous lesions naked to the eye. It is a safe, non-toxic method that can be used on the hands, neck, and chest as well as the face. All TCA peels are in-office procedures that can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures.

Peel: The Obagi® Blue Peel typically takes 30-45 minutes and may be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, legs, arms, and face. The procedure is fast and highly tolerable. The number of coats applied is customized to your skin's specific needs.

After the Peel: There is no downtime associated with the Obagi® Blue Peel. You will experience redness and peeling of the skin that resembles a sunburn. This is perfectly normal and should subside within seven to ten days. You should not apply cosmetics until after the skin heals.

Depending on the depth of the procedure, skin can heal in anywhere from 7 to 10 days. The dramatic results appear as soon as the skin finishes peeling.
