Permanent Cosmetics
(intradermal pigmentation)
Marietta Plastic Surgery skin and laser center
Marietta Plastic Surgery offers permanent cosmetics using the state-of-the-art method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. Intradermal pigmentation is a safe, medically proven technique for a variety of cosmetic enhancements including permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip liner/color. Other permanent cosmetic enhancements include stretch marks and scar camouflage, areola restoration, hairline enhancement and more.
Permanent cosmetics are available in a wide spectrum of colors. You and your skin care specialist will choose the colors that look best with your skin tone.
The Procedure
Intradermal implantation typically takes one hour depending on the extent of the procedure. The procedure is performed in our office on an outpatient basis. Both our skin care nurse and our aestheticians, which have been trained thoroughly by a licensed instructor, perform the procedure.
Intradermal pigmentation is applied with tattoo needles resulting in reduced trauma to the skin, better pigment implantation, and better accuracy and precision in placement. Patients are awake during the procedure.
After the Procedure
Skin will be slightly swollen, red, and/or irritated at the treatment sites. This is normal and will subside within 48 hours.
Recovery
Patients may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to three weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color. Touch ups may be needed.
