What drew you to this line of work?
Nursing offers a fast-paced working environment where every day is different. I enjoy helping people and making a difference in their lives. I can have a personal connection with my patients which makes the job fulfilling. Nursing provides me an opportunity to continue learning professionally every day.
Why did you choose your particular specialty?
I like to help people with their transformation process. I wanted to have more quality interaction with patients compared to my time in the hospital.
What is the most rewarding thing about your job?
When a patient personally thanks me (inside or outside of the office) for helping with their care. I truly enjoy working with each person in our offices. We are a great team!
Is there a patient that had a profound impact on you?
Our practice treats many patients who are battling cancer. My mom and my youngest daughter also battled cancer so these patients hold an extra special place in my heart. Helping our cancer patients in any way possible, whether it is spending a bit more time to explain things, offering a smile, or lending an ear to hear their stories, impacts and inspires me to be the best nurse I can be.
With our cosmetic patients, I get to see first-hand how they become more confident and comfortable in their new bodies. Seeing them happy and confident makes my day.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Exercising at Twisted Cycle. Reading. Shopping. Spending time with family and friends.
