Marietta Plastic Surgery recently had the opportunity to work with Peaches in a Pod, a local pair of influencers that cover fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in their blog and social media channels. Whitney and Blaire, the two women who run Peaches in a Pod, were both interested in enhancing their natural beauty and started by visiting our team.
“We tried to do the best we could for our aging skin on our own, but there’s only so much you can do with ointments and creams,” Blaire said. “When Whitney and I thought about enlisting the help of professionals to improve our skin, we wanted someone we could trust. Marietta Plastic Surgery’s team was the perfect resource for us.”
Blaire’s main concerns were the bags under her eyes and her crow’s feet. She previously tried topical treatments and eye creams, but it was time for something more.. During her consultation, she met with Physician Assistant Natalie, who recommended Botox around the eyes in addition to fillers in the cheeks. That magic combination would be just the thing to aid Blaire in making the skin around her eyes appear more youthful.
Whitney met with MPS Aesthetician Tonya, where she learned about Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments. PRP utilizes a collagen induction therapy process that helps skin look refreshed and rejuvenated over time. Since Whitney was hoping to erase her forehead and frown lines, PRP was the perfect solution. Prior to receiving her PRP treatments, Whitney was tasked with using Revision Skincare products we carry. The results had her wishing she had started that regimen earlier.
Blaire was a little nervous about her first Botox and dermal fillers experience, but Natalie’s reassurances and detailed explanation of the process eased her worries.
“We started with the Botox injections, and I have to say that it didn’t hurt at all! I would compare it to plucking an eyebrow with each stick. Easy peasy, no big deal.”
Because Blaire had hooded eyes, Natalie suggested not treating the forehead area to avoid making her upper eyelids seem heavier. Instead, Natalie focused on the corners of her eyes as well as the area between. For the filler portion of her treatment, Natalie used Juvederm Voluma fillers to add volume, lift, and contour the cheek area.
Blaire’s full results were evident within a week, and her before and after photos speak for themselves.
“Would I do it again? Absolutely, 100 percent! My only regret is that I didn’t do this several years ago. The lines under my eyes have completely smoothed out, and the area under eyelids and between my eyes have filled in nicely without any sort of frozen appearance.”

While Blaire’s results were close to instantaneous, Whitney’s treatment plan involved multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. PRP is the most effective when it is applied in 3-4 treatments over the course of a few months. Based on the results Whitney was looking for, we recommend a series of 4 treatments.
To prep Whitney’s skin for her first PRP microneedling treatment, Tonya applied a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort. For those who are curious about how PRP microneedling treatment works, the process is straight-forward. Whitney’s blood was drawn and placed into a machine called a centrifuge, which spins the vials of blood until the platelets are separated out from everything else. Then, Tonya injected the blood back into Whitney’s skin through the microneedling process, so that the plasma is absorbed back into the skin through microscopic holes. This entire process helps stimulates the skin’s cells to create a more youthful look, as well as reduce the look of scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and dark circles.
The process only took around 30 minutes, and after Whitney was sent home with some skincare products and specific instructions from Tonya. The redness is temporary, but the full effects of PRP treatments can last up to two years!
“The after effects were amazing. My skin was so soft and felt refreshed. My husband keeps telling me how pretty I look, and he’s not one to notice these types of things.”
