Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can be performed at a younger age than many other plastic surgery procedures. As young as age 16 for girls whose noses have become mature. However, just because rhinoplasty can be performed at that age, it doesn't mean it is the right age for you. Here is a quick guide to help you determine the best age for your rhinoplasty.

Physical maturity: Your nose may be finished growing, but what about the rest of your face. If you have "the family nose," look at pictures of family to see when their noses reached final proportion with their faces. This is a good age to assess how you feel about your nose.

Emotional maturity: Are you the kind of person who makes a snap decision and regrets it soon after? If so, then you may want to wait before making a decision about your rhinoplasty until you feel confidence in your decision-making. The results of rhinoplasty are essentially permanent–you want to make a decision you'll be happy with for the rest of your life.

Financial preparedness: You will want to make sure you are in a good financial position for getting your rhinoplasty. At Marietta Plastic Surgery, we work hard to keep costs reasonable for every procedure, including rhinoplasty, and rhinoplasty financing means you don't need to be able to pay for the procedure up front. But you do need to be in a place where you can reliably count on making payments for the duration of the financing plan.

During your consultation, we will talk about these and other factors to help you determine whether now is the ideal age for your rhinoplasty. To schedule a consultation at either of our Atlanta-area offices, please contact us today.
