If you are frustrated with signs of facial aging, a facelift can potentially turn back the clock on your appearance, restoring a more youthful and refreshed look that allows your personality to shine through again. There are many different types of facelifts; the right approach for you will depend on the condition of your skin, your unique facial features, and your personal cosmetic goals.

At Marietta Plastic Surgery, we offer the following types of facelifts:

  • Skin only facelift – Skin is pulled taut over the muscles of your face in order to eliminate sagging and drooping.
  • Short scar facelift – A short scar lift involves adjusting your skin and muscles as a single unit. An incision is made in front of your ear.
  • SMAS facelift – SMAS is the layer of tissue that lies over the muscles of your lower face. During an SMAS facelift, your skin is loosened using incisions behind your temples and within the contours of your ears, and the SMAS layer (the underlying soft tissue of the face) is pulled tight and re-positioned in a more youthful position. This helps elevate the deep tissues of your face. Excess skin is also removed during an SMAS facelift.

The SMAS facelift is the most effective surgery. However, it does require multiple incisions. Our Atlanta plastic surgeons take great care to ensure scars heal properly and are placed in areas where they will be the least noticeable.

Since facelifts only address the face, you may want to consider combining your procedure with a forehead lift, neck lift, or eyelid surgery for the best results.
