It is important to understand that breast implants are not sized like bras. Therefore, while it may make sense in your mind to speak in terms of cup size, this will not help you arrive at a decision regarding the right breast implant size.
One of the biggest problems with thinking in terms of cup size is that not all bra manufacturers use a uniform cup size measurement. As a result, you may require a B cup from one bra manufacturer’s products and a C cup from another’s. In order to eliminate this confusion, breast implants are measured using cubic centimeters (abbreviated as cc).
The cubic centimeter measurement refers to the volume of saline or silicone contained in your breast implant. There are a wide variety of implant sizes, ranging from 120cc to 850cc. In general, it takes approximately 200cc of volume to increase your breasts one cup size.
Keep in mind that the same sized implant will not result in the same final breast size for all women. You must also take into account your initial natural breast size. For example, a 350cc breast implant will result in a larger final breast size for a woman who starts out as a C cup than for a woman who starts out as an A cup.
When choosing your breast implant size, consider both your aesthetic goals and your lifestyle. In many instances, bigger is not necessarily better. A moderately sized breast implant can often achieve a more natural-looking result and make it easier to maintain an active lifestyle after your breast augmentation procedure.
