A Legacy of Academic and Surgical Excellence
Dr. McNeel’s achievements started early. In high school, he was elected Senior Class President and voted “Most Likely to Succeed.” He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1985. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1990.
His postgraduate training brought him back to Georgia, where he completed a five-year general surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. Recognized for his compassion, work ethic, and talent for teaching, Dr. McNeel was later selected for Emory’s elite plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program, where he was mentored by leaders in the field.
Professional Career and Leadership
In 1997, Dr. McNeel entered private practice at Marietta Plastic Surgery, where he continues to serve the greater Atlanta area. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions at WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, including Chief of Surgery, Vice Chief of Surgery, and Chief of Plastic Surgery.
His leadership and vision have been integral to establishing Marietta Plastic Surgery as a regionally recognized center of excellence for both aesthetic surgery and breast reconstruction.
Expertise in Facial Injectables and Innovation
Dr. McNeel is also a nationally recognized expert in facial injectable treatments. As a Master Injector and Trainer for three leading injectable companies, he regularly trains physicians and aesthetic professionals across the U.S. He has also served as a principal investigator for numerous breast implant clinical studies over the past two decades, contributing to advances in patient safety and surgical technique.
