Yes. Refining a thick nose is one of the cosmetic changes we can improve with rhinoplasty.

If your nose is thick because of wide cartilage and bone structures in the bridge, then it can easily be narrowed.

Wide nostrils can also be refined, though this is a more complicated process. The result will be a narrower base of the nose, leading to a more refined shape.

If your nose appears thick because your skin is thick, you may be limited in what you can accomplish. It is possible to thin the skin with a process known as “defatting,” when the subcutaneous fat is removed. However, the procedure is risky and often results in poor cosmetic results.

During your rhinoplasty consultation, we will evaluate your nose, skin, and facial proportions to make recommendation about what is the best treatment plan for achieving your cosmetic goals. Please contact Marietta Plastic Surgery today to schedule your consultation at either of our Atlanta-area offices.
