Like any plastic surgery procedure, there is no single best age for a breast augmentation. There is, however, your best age. This is based on your current level of development, your expectations, your satisfaction with your body, and your plans for the future.
Women who plan on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding may wish to wait until they have finished nursing children to have breast augmentation. This is not a requirement, but a consideration. Other considerations are discussed below and can be more fully addressed during your initial consultation with one of our Atlanta breast augmentation surgeons.
The FDA recommends not placing silicone breast implants in women under the age of 22. However, they can have saline implants placed before they turn 22. Some women choose to wait until after the age of 22 to increase their breast enlargement options.
There is no upper age-limit for breast augmentation. This procedure is most common in women in their 30s, but women in their 40s and beyond seeking augmentation are far from rare. If you are dissatisfied with the shape and size of your breasts, no matter what your age, one of our breast augmentation surgeons can help you determine if this is the best procedure for your body.
